National Communications Academy, Ghaziabad (NCA-T , erstwhile NTIPRIT) serves as the apex Capacity Building Institute for telecom domain under the Ministry of Communications. NCA-T has been designated as Central Training Institute (CTI) by DoPT. NCA-T conducts the induction training programs for the candidates joining as JTS in ITS Group A and JTO under TES Group B services. In addition, NCA-T conducts capacity building programs on Telecom & ICT domain areas such as 5G and its applications, Telecom security, AI, IoT, Green Energy, etc. for the officers of Central Govt, State Govt and other stakeholders in the Digital Communication space.
NCA-T has agreement with ITU for joint capacity development under the ITU Academy Training Centre (ATC) program, and is one of the 14 Academy Training Centre working worldwide. As an apex training institution in Telecom domain in the Asia Pacific region, NCA-T has also shouldered the responsibility of conducting capacity building programs for developing countries like the courses conducted under India Trade and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Govt. of India, for Asia-Pacific Tele-community (APT) member countries, ASEAN countries, etc. The recent training programs included the DIGITAL DIVIDE AND SOLUTIONS, ICT policy planning for Good Governance, ICT in Disaster Management, Telecom Security Management, etc.
NCA-T has played a leading role in implementing Mission Karmayogi within the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). It is one of the first institutions in the country to be assessed by Capacity Building Commission. It ranked among the top five contributors of courses on the iGOT Karmayogi platform during 2023-24.
NCA-T has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with prominent institutions, including IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, NIELIT, CDAC, NFSU, AICTE, NIMSME, etc for collaboration in academic and policy research.
A Centre for Broadband Proliferation in Rural Areas (CBBPiR) is working to contribute to the objectives of National Broadband Mission of Government of India and USOF.
NCA-T has highly skilled and trained faculty dedicated to providing excellent training in ICT and emerging technologies, including 5G, wireless technology, telecom security, advanced transmission techniques, NGN, and telecom technology management.
It has the state-of-the-art high-tech laboratories designed to provide comprehensive hands-on training, research, and collaborative application development. The existing Labs include-
- 5G Use cases Lab: Dedicated to 5G technology, this lab features the 5G use cases for exploring the capabilities and applications of fifth-generation wireless networks, including high-speed data transfer and low-latency communication.
- Network Security Lab: This lab offers hands-on experience with tools/ portals in domain of network security, essential for modern telecommunication systems.
- Data Communication Lab: This lab provides resources for studying and experimenting with data transmission, network protocols, and communication technologies, facilitating practical understanding of data communication principles.
- ICT Lab: Equipped with modern ICT tools, this lab supports training in network management, communication protocols, and digital infrastructure, providing a solid foundation for understanding ICT systems.
