The M2M Service Authorisation permits provision of M2M services, WPAN/WLAN operations using exempted spectrum, and management of M2M e-SIM platforms, with no authorisation fee and compliance to specified technical and security conditions.

Details of Service

The scope of Machine to Machine (M2M) service authorisation comprises of the following:

(a) Machine to Machine (M2M) service

(b) Establish, operate, maintain or expand Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) using spectrum exempted from the requirement of assignment under sub-section (6) or sub-section (7) of section 4 of the Act

(c) Own and manage a platform for subscription profile management of M2M e-SIM.

1.    Any business entity is eligible to apply.
2.    Companies incorporated under the Companies Act.
3.    Partnership firms and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs).
4.    Proprietorship firms, societies, trusts, institutions, undertakings.
5.    Ministries or Departments of Central or State Government.
6.    Parliament, State Legislature, Courts of Law.
7.    Autonomous organisations.

1. Certificate of Incorporation under Indian Company Act.
2. Board Resolution authorising submission of the application.
3. Shareholding Pattern and Beneficial Ownership details.
4. FDI-related documents and declarations on no prohibited investors.
5. Financial documents: audited statements, net worth certificate, and declaration of no outstanding dues.
6. Security compliance documents: lawful interception readiness, data storage and monitoring arrangements.
7. Completed application form and payment proof of the processing fee as required by the Central Government portal.

Issuance of Letter of Intent (LoI) If eligible, an LoI is issued specifying payment requirements (entry fee, financial guarantee).

Payment & Compliance Submission Applicant submits the required fees and financial guarantees within the given timeline.
6
Grant of Authorisation Upon successful verification, the authorisation is issued for the approved service area.
