WPC Wing grants frequency assignment to the users for setting up a Commercial VSAT network based on the permission granted by DoT.
Details of Service
Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) is one of the satellite communication technologies, which is very useful for remote and inaccessible locations (rural areas, ships, coastal regions, hills, etc) where there is limited or no terrestrial connectivity. The main advantages of VSAT technology are its rapid deployment with minimum training, scalability, lower operational costs, and reliability of communication, in remote locations even in adverse situations. A commercial VSAT service provider can offer the service on commercial basis to its subscribers by setting up several CUGs. WPC allocates frequency spectrum for this service license
