Headend-in-the-Sky (HITS) is a satellite-based broadcasting distribution system that receives TV channels from broadcasters, processes them at a central headend, and retransmits them to local cable operators (LCOs) via satellite. This enables LCOs and Multi-System Operators (MSOs) to deliver digital TV services without needing an expensive terrestrial headend.
