The purpose of this approval is R&D, Experimentation, Testing in all bands in Indoors (non-radiating) or Technology and Capability demonstration. This approval is for conducting experimental and technology trials. These include: Experimental (Non-radiating) indoors, including license for spectrum Experimental (Radiating), including license for spectrum for Indoor and Outdoor testing Technology Trials (Radiating): The special case of 5G Technology Trials (Radiating): Other than 5G trials

Details of Service

The Experimental and  Technology Trial License is essential for companies engaged in research, testing, and development of new wireless technologies. This license allows them to use specific frequencies temporarily for R&D, showcase prototypes and test equipment in controlled environments. This license is critical in fostering innovation in telecommunications, enabling companies to explore new wireless solutions while ensuring adherence to spectrum guidelines. Further frequency assignment can be obtained under this module for conduct of technology trials.

  • Experimental (Non-radiating) indoors, including license for spectrum- Applicable to Indian entities involved in R&D, incubation, experimentation, TSP’s and covers Public Access Testbeds

Application Process

Submit application saral sanchar portal Login to saral sanchar portal and fill the application form for Experimental and Technology Trial license

Upload the signed application on saral sanchar portal alongwith all the required documents. The application shall be digitally signed alongwith all relevant documents before submission to portal.

Application Scrutiny by WPC Wing After submission of application, the same will be examined by the nodal officer in WPC Wing and if all the relevant information and documents are in line LoI for payment of fees is issued to the applicant.

Payment of applicable fees and download the License Applicant pays the applicable fees and frequency clearance is auto generated. Applicant can use the frequency clearance letter for procurement of equipemnts and proceed with the Experimental and Technology Trial.
