A demonstration license is issued to a person or company which intends to demonstrate any wireless equipment. This approval Include: Demo indoor for finished products including license for Spectrum Non-radiating/ very low power radiating- Purpose of this is product demonstration in exhibitions, indoors, customer premises. Purpose of this license is product demonstration, in exhibitions, indoors or customer premises. Demonstration (outdoor) for finished products including license for spectrum radiating- The purpose of this is product demonstration in outdoor environment.

A demonstration license is a non-network type of license issued to a person or company which intends to demonstrate any wireless equipment. This approval Include:

 {Note: Entities already holding either a valid 'Experimental and Technology Trials License, MANUFACTURING & TESTING LICENSE or Authorized Indian traders having valid OPL may apply for outdoor demo license for the products covered under respective licenses)

Application Process

Submit application saral sanchar portal Login to saral sanchar portal and fill the application form for Demonstration license

Upload the signed application on saral sanchar portal alongwith all the required documents. The application shall be digitally signed alongwith all relevant documents before submission to portal.

Application Scrutiny by WPC Wing After submission of application, the same will be examined by the nodal officer in WPC Wing and if all the relevant information and documents are in line LoI for payment of fees is issued to the applicant.

Payment of applicable fees Applicant pays the applicable fees and frequency clearance is auto generated. Applicant can use the frequency clearance letter for procurement of equipemnts and proceed with the demonstration.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Demonstration License is issued by the Wireless Planning & Coordination (WPC) Wing, DoT to allow demonstration of finished wireless products for exhibitions, customer premises, or field display, strictly on a non-commercial basis.

There are two types:

  1. Demo Indoor (Non-radiating / Very Low Power Radiating)

  2. Demo Outdoor (Radiating) 

     

Eligible applicants include:

  • Indian companies and organizations
  • Indian entities demonstrating finished wireless products
  • Authorized Indian traders
  • Indian entities importing demo equipment on returnable basis

No. A separate Demonstration License is not required for indoor demonstrations (up to one month at one location) if the entity already holds:

  • Experimental & Technology Trial License, or
  • Manufacturing & Testing License, or
  • Valid Dealer Possession License (DPL)
    provided the demo is on non-interference and non-protection basis.

Indoor Demonstration License permits:

  • Product demonstration in exhibitions
  • Demonstration at customer premises
  • Indoor demo in non-radiating or very low-power radiating mode 

Outdoor Demonstration License permits:

  • Product demonstration in outdoor environments
  • Radiating operation under approved technical parameters
  • Temporary field demonstrations without commercial service

No. Commercial service, sale, or revenue generation is strictly prohibited under all Demonstration Licenses.

1- 5,000 per license (one-time)

2- No royalty or spectrum usage charges

3- All devices operating in a spectrum band are covered under one license

3 months only, No extension permitted.
